Ganesh Gattani is a resident of Pune but works in Mumbai. He sees a problem every time he visits his home town. One day he decided to not crib anymore of the problem and develop a solution of his own.
The story of P-Indicator
Whenever I come to Pune, I experience a lot of trouble in reaching home from bus-stop, airport, and even railway station. I could not find the time-table of PMPML buses, local train, or express trains. I had to install separate apps for each purpose. In Mumbai, we have m-indicator. With a similar concept, I decided to develop P-Indicator.
With P-indicator, Ganesh and his cofounder, Paras Gangwal wants to provide travellers with every travelling information within Pune. Their app currently displays information about local train schedule, PMPML and MSRTC bus schedule, express trains schedule, current auto fares, jobs, theatre plays, local news, movies playing in theatres, important alerts, emergency contacts, and popular places of Pune.
Ganesh claims their app, P-indicator, to be the most intuitive, useful and simple to use city guide. The app can be accessed even when offline. The app is designed with the vision that no one visiting Pune should ever find it difficult to travel around in the city.
Ganesh and Paras has built the app using Android Studio, PHP, Mysql, and Java. The app is currently only available on Android
According to Ganesh, there are similar apps now on Google Play — ‘m-indicator’ and ‘Pune in my pocket’
